Polarity Therapy Certification Programs
The American Polarity Therapy Association (APTA) is the national governing organization for Polarity Therapy. Two levels of certification are designated:
- APP: Associate Polarity Practitioner
- RPP: Registered Polarity Practitioner
Our students gain practical, first-hand knowledge of theory and application of the Polarity principles. Completion of our courses qualifies the student to apply to APTA for certification.
Polarity Therapy: What is it?
Polarity Therapy is the practical application of understanding that everything is animated by energy. The way we express ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally is energy at work. This energy is also known as Vital Force, Prana and Chi. With training we can see, feel and use this Vital Force to bring health and fulfillment.
Accumulated stress and tension through work and relationships can deaden feeling and inhibit our life from moving forward with ease and confidence. The Polarity Process supports the release of tension, fear and pain, literally freeing us from the past and enabling us to be more focused in the present.
Dr. Randolph Stone developed Polarity Therapy. As a Doctor of Chiropractic and Osteopathy, and familiar with the naturopathic traditions of Europe, he spent his latter life in India studying Ayrvedic Medicine. Dr. Stone's genius lay in his ability to see the essential principles unifying diverse approaches to healing. Polarity Therapy is the study and application of those principles, with profound results.

Associate Polarity Practitioner (APP) Certification Programs
The Associate Polarity Practitioner (APP) training includes learning and applying the fundamental theories of polarity therapy. APP graduates can perform hands-on sessions, evaluate their clients eating patterns, breath and attitude, and advise in the practice of polarity yoga postures. Each classroom day includes polarity yoga practice, meditation theory and intensive hands-on practice. Supervised practice sessions between classes allow the student opportunities to fine tune skills and receive directed feedback from the instructors.
The APP training program meets the standards for practice as established by APTA. For certification, students are required to have 120 classroom hours, 30 hours of outside bodywork practice, and 5 sessions with Registered Polarity Practitioners (RPP). Polarity trainings are now ongoing. You can begin when you are ready as our programs run one-on-one, student with instructor, on a mutually agreed upon schedule. Following receipt of your application, a personal interview is scheduled.

Registered Polarity Practitioner (RPP) Program
RPP credits given for the upcoming workshop with Dr. David Bate on Trauma Resolution. More info available here.
The RPP Training Program meets the hours for registration as setup by APTA and follows the current APTA standards for practice. Under the umbrella of the Wellness Institute, the RPP program is approved, guided and supervised by Roger Gilchrist, Director.
The RPP program meets all competencies as set by the American Polarity Therapy Associations Standards for Practice.
Our modules are well-developed and are five days in length. Each module has a specific focus and then includes progressive units in support areas such as nutrition, assessment, business, anatomy, Polarity exercises, communication, and related elective areas.
All modules are organized so they blend Polarity bodywork, specific protocols, theory, and energetic anatomy based on the teachings of Dr. Randolph Stone.
The program includes special topics and units within each module that will give the student competencies in related healthcare areas. Experts in their field teach these specialty classes.
Scholarships are available through the William C. Leichnitz Scholarship Fund and apply only to the Atlanta Polarity Center. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and sincerity of intent. Call 404-231-9481 for more information.
